Fundamentals of Real-Time Distributed Simulation
Course Description Distributed Simulation environments are cost-effective ways to conduct training, testing and systems analysis. Distributed Simulation can expand the availability of resources to more users and different sites and connect disparate systems together. The key to success in this field lies in a thorough understanding of all the influences on success and performance and the careful planning and consideration of all the elements that constitute the desired outcome. The goal of this course is to provide a baseline understanding of the fundamentals of real time distributed simulation. Everyone involved in real-time simulation, from exercise planners and participants to software and content developers must understand the basic building blocks and underlying concepts in order to choose the right technologies to succeed. This course will start with the basics then build upon these foundations to include advantages and disadvantages of different approaches and technologies, performance and development strategies as well as common misconceptions and errors. The course will cover emerging Serious Games applications and show how these can be blended into a Distributed Simulation environment. What You Will Cover
