Technical Architect

Job Description:

The Technical Architect's role is to design and implement the application and data architectures required to create Knowledge Management Applications, to  develop demonstrations and prototypes of key Knowledge Management functionality, and to oversee the design and development of appliance, server and networked software architectures required to support Knowledge Management Application capabilities.  This individual will support the acquisition of organizational commitment for all systems and software plans, as well .  In addition, the Technical Architect provides technical leadership for the product, from design to the project planning level.

Education and Experience:
Candidates should have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related field.  They will have extensive experience with:

  • C, C++, C#
  • XML
  • UML, OOA/OOD

Required Skills:
Candidates will have verifiable experience with one or more of:

  • SCORM and AICC compliant OpenSource and proprietary LMS and LCMS
  • OpenSource or proprietary gaming platforms

Desired Skills:
Ideal candidates will also have the following skills:

  • Full lifecycle development experience
  • Excellent ability to research, evaluate and recommend technical solutions
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to present technical information to a business audience

3D Modeller

Job Description:
Successful candidate will
be an experienced 3D artist that will model various military and civilian objects.  Subjects will range from all types of military and civilian vehicles through to flora and fauna.

Education and Experience:
Candidates should be graduates and/or have relevant experience in 3D modelling using industry standard software, have knowledge of related software applications and have a very good understanding of graphics relevant to 3D Modelling.  3D Models created for Game mods would be considered also, but must prove capability.

Required Skills:
Must have strong 3D modelling experience using tools such as 3DS Max, Creator, or similar applications.

Desired Skills:
OpenGL programming and/or DirectX programming a plus.  Shader programming experience is a bonus. 

Demo Requirement:
Applications/resumes should include a cover letter and examples of models created.

OpenGL Programmer

Job Description:
Acron requires an OpenGL programmer to maintain, enhance and extend the capabilities of our flagship Acron 3D Modeller application.

Education and Experience:
The successful candidate must satisfy the following requirements:

  • at least 3 years C++ and OpenGL application development experience as part of a software team in a commercial environment.

  • Degree qualified in a relevant subject (Computer Science/Software Engineering)

Required Skills:
Must have strong OpenGL development experience. 

Desired Skills:
The successful candidate will

  • DirectX programming

  • Experience with 3D Modelling tool development

  • 3D format conversion

Distributed Modeling and Simulation Engineers
(Junior and Senior)

Job Description:
Successful candidate will support distributed simulation projects that primarily use Distributed Interactive Simulation protocol (DIS) and High Level Architecture (HLA) standards; HLA 1.3 and IEEE 1516.  Responsible for supporting M&S architecture for distributed and non-distributed simulation federations, the integration control documentation required to integrate required simulations into the required simulation environment, the simulation management and control procedures to execute a simulation federation, and developing the M&S verification, validation, and accreditation (VV&A) plan to include guiding VV&A activities.  The successful candidate will have used different RTI implementations (e.g. DMSO, MAK, etc) and have developed suitable object models in support of federates and federations.  The incumbent must be knowledgeable of software configuration management processes to ensure that all M&S developed for applications is reusable and in compliance with any relevant M&S standards such as High Level Architecture.  The successful candidate would ideally have experience in the FEDEP and/or SEDEP.

Education and Experience:
Must be a suitably qualified systems engineer with a modeling and simulation (M&S) background.  The successful Junior candidate will have at least 2 years experience using HLA in a distributed simulation environment.  The Senior candidate will have at least 5 years experience.

Required Skills:
Applicant must be experienced with development of the supporting M&S architecture for distributed and non-distributed simulation federations, the integration control documentation required to integrate required simulations into the required simulation environment, simulation management and control procedures to execute a simulation federation, and development of the M&S verification, validation, and accreditation (VV&A) plan. The applicant must be knowledgeable of software configuration management processes to ensure that all M&S developed for applications is reusable and in compliance with M&S standards such as High Level Architecture. Applicant must possess the ability to develop and write concise test and evaluation plans.

Desired Skills:
Has been in charge of, or involved in, planning and implementing M&S for distributed exercises, particularly using the FEDEP process.
